There are many diseases that affect the heart. Of course, number one on the list would be heart attack. However, one dangerous thing that may happen is that we are not aware that there are other diseases that can affect our heart. We don’t know about these diseases because they rarely occur and since we do not know that such diseases exist, we may be caught unaware the moment they strike us. For example, only few of us know about pericardial diseases like pericardial mesothelioma. Actually, what makes this disease very dangerous and even fatal to us is the fact that it is a type of cancer and as of these moments, only few treatment methods are available for it.

Pericardial mesothelioma is a rare cancerous disease of the tissue layers surrounding the heart. The abnormal growth in the pericardium, that is, the lining that covers and protects the heart can lead to the condition known as mesothelioma and thus the name pericardial mesothelioma was derived. It is a disease that actually does not affect the organ (heart) itself but does affect the linings that protect is. When abnormal growth happens, cancer can occur and might lead to conditions like pericardial effusion. When that happens, you can expect that you are about to deal with a disease that is so dangerous and fatal.

Take care of your heart. You may not be aware of this, but there are lots of diseases that may affect it. You just need to take the effort to know these diseases so that you can be also aware of the ways in which you can avoid acquiring these illnesses.
