Biphasic Mesothelioma
Have you ever thought or heard of the case or possibility that two cancers can combine to create a new one? It sounds farfetched but we should believe it because it is actually possible. Have you ever heard of Biphasic Mesothelioma cancer? This cancer is actually the combination of epithelial mesothelioma and sarcomatoid mesothelioma. Like other forms of mesothelioma, biphasic mesothelioma overwhelmingly begins with asbestos exposure. When a person develops mesothelioma, the cancer cells can be classified as either epithelioid cells or sarcomatoid cells. They are both deadly and are distinguished by their shape and the appearance of the nucleus. When a person has both epithelioid and sarcomatoid cells present in their tumors, either mixed together or epithelioid in one area of the tumor and sarcomatoid in another area, the type of mesothelioma is called biphasic.

When we speak of biphasic cells, we refer to either or both of epithelioid or sarcomatoid cells. They are the causes of biphasic mesothelioma. Biphasic Mesothelioma treatment options vary depending on the case. There are lots of organs that may be targeted by this type of cancer and thus the treatments needed to deal with this vary. Also, diagnosis is important factor if we want to somehow fight against this disease. A patient may undergo medical processes such as MRI, CT scan, X-ray and after that, if abnormal tissue masses have been seen, the patient undergoes biopsy of the tissue and there, the diagnosis might be completed. Once diagnosed, that will be the only time when we can know the treatment that can be given to that patient.
There are things that are really unbelievable but occur. We just have to understand these things so that we will be able to do the needed actions to deal with them. In the case of this cancer, it is best that a patient be subjected to diagnosis in order for us to be sure.
